"Renting referrals is like asking a woman to marry you where the woman can't say no."
Referrals - they come in two class: direct and rented. The people who registered to any advertising platform that offers a referral system, Clixsense for example, using your referral link are called direct referrals. They’re the key ingredients in boosting your earnings when engaged in a PTC businesses. Sometimes, they could also mean your pitfalls. Remember, there are two types of referrals: active and inactive.
You are lucky if somehow you managed to convince a high-spirited folk to join a PTC site under your referral link. Typically, in the beginning, these folks will do everything to earn more in PTC thus getting the most out of the PTC site’s offers. They will click and view every ad there is, take surveys, play the grid, complete tasks. If you’re lucky, they’d even invest to go for an upgraded account so basically, you get to earn commission from the activity they’re making. Imagine how much commission you would get from 200 upgraded active direct referrals.
The Reality
However, in reality, not all of your referrals may be able to click all the ads every day, do surveys and tasks, some may even still prefer standard membership. You have to consider that your referrals are a bunch of people not focusing only on PTC sites. They also do some important things in their lives. Some take a vacation for weeks, months. Some are preparing for their coming wedding and a bunch of other things. Plus, if you read the ToS (Terms of Service) of some of the PTC sites, you will come across a policy which details that viewers and referrals, direct or rented, can and may view at least 1, 4, or 5 ads every day to get the commissions they need from their referrals. What does that mean? In other words, not all of your referrals will likely to click and view all the ads the PTC site posted. Just like you, they may have also referrals, people who signed up the PTC site under their referral link and chances are they will likely ignore some ads and focus on just clicking the needed ads to get their commission.
The Risk
Same scenario goes when renting referrals. It could even be worst. For first-timers, they might find it problematic to gather direct referrals. The problem is how do they get people to engage on joining the business. There are actually ways to do it but for some who is just starting out and still learning how the business model works, some PTC sites offer a renting referral system. You might find it a good alternative to get referrals and earn more in PTC sites without getting direct referrals. Mind you, DO NOT get tempted in doing so. It is NOT A GOOD IDEA to rent referrals when you’re still starting out.
Who are this referrals that you get to rent?
PTC members who didn’t sign up under anyone’s referral link, a referrer, are sold to anyone who likes to rent them to get the commission from their activity. Also, there is no assurance that these referrals are even people. Some PTC sites will do everything to lure you to a path where you suffer a great loss of investment. NOT ALL referrals you get to rent are actually people participating but some of them are actually BOTS that follow a certain type of instruction.
So be very careful when renting referrals especially when you’re still starting out. You have to first focus on getting your direct referrals and be patient on growing your earnings and avoid spending it or doing an early cashout. Eventually, there will come a time that you will hit the point where your earnings are enough to purchase an upgrade for your account, you may do so.
Clixsense is a great PTC site that doesn’t offer referral renting. It’s a great PTC site which stood many years ever since its bloom back in 2007. Mainly, members of the site maximize their earnings using direct referrals. It's free to join and no registration fees needed.
TOP 5 Guide to Renting Referrals
Renting referrals is all not that bad. Doing so in a wrong time may discourage you from ever joining the PTC community so here are some of the good points to consider when engaging on referral hiring.
1. Rent only when you have the budget.
“Yes! Finally, I have $2 on my account” - the excitement of earning from a PTC site and having to cash out. It’s actually stupidity. “Yes, I have $0.6 and I can finally rent 3 referrals.” - another bad and stupid move. You should not celebrate right away once you hit the required rate to rent a referral pack. It’s actually giving you the wrong intuition. What happens if those referrals you rented expires? Will you be able to recycle the inactive ones and rehire the active ones? Guess what, you can’t because you just spent all your earnings to renting right away and you don’t have any left to rehire. You just spent your only $0.6 earnings to rent referrals for a week which enable you to get back - $0.3?
How do we define “budget”? Its definition should strictly encourage you to save now, spend and cash out later. The best time where you should consider investing on rented referrals is when your account is already upgraded and you have saved up a lot of earnings enough to do re-renting of what you found to be good performance rented referrals. Otherwise, you need some serious math skills to manage your rented referrals given that your account is limited and you have insufficient funds.
2. Keep the good ones
Within the time period, renting referrals for example within 30 days, track down your referral’s activities and evaluate which of them are active and profitable before expiration. If you found one that’s not doing well because that referral might be clicking fewer ads or none at all in a day, you should consider replacing them. Extend the one’s who's been doing great for your next referral renting.
Note: Some PTC sites uses BOTS as referrals for hire. BOTS tend to have a minimal click in a day or do not click at all. You should be careful not to end up spending more and earning less.
3. The Autopay System
Renting referrals also come with an autopay system. Within 30 days, you feel satisfied and relaxed knowing that you have 9 out of 10 active rented referrals doing all the offers, clicking and viewing every ad there is posted on the PTC site, completing all tasks, taking surveys. The next day you found out that it’s already the 31st day, your referral renting had expired and you realized that you forgot to extend all those active referrals you rent. You rented again only to find out when the renting is about to expire that the other set of referrals you hired did not perform well like the last one. This had been a problem when renting referrals - losing track of expiration and throwing away good referrals.
With an autopay system, you can overcome the risk whenever your active referral rent expires. The system allows you to automatically rehire the active referral you rented for the next rental. You can select those referrals with profitable average clicks and have them implement an autopay system so that they’d be around for the next rental. Rent new ones replacing those with low average clicks, track their activity for the rent time period and implement autopay for those with great performance.
4. TOS
You need to be very careful when you decide to rent referrals. There are policies aligned with the rental process. PTC sites like adzbazar, for example, will allow you to rent a certain amount of referrals based on your membership type. Basically, if you have standard membership in adzbazar and you are allowed to rent a maximum of 200 referrals but you ended up hiring 250. Those 50 referrals, whether active clickers or not, will not give you commissions. Adzbazar and some other PTC sites strictly include in their policy a fee everytime you let your rented referral expire. A standard member in adzbazar will cost $0.02 per referral.

If you have an upgraded account, in Grandbux for example, you will have free referral renting. The amount of free referrals allowed for rent varies depending on your membership.
5. Earn more, spend less
The idea is to go back where you should not get tempted into cashing out early. Now that you have established a good set of rented referrals by doing a serious management skill you acquired from tracking, recycling, and removing referrals, you should save what you profited from them and use it to hire more referrals and look for potential members of your set or upgrade to ultimate membership. Again, be very wary of the allowed referrals you can rent which depend solely on the membership type you have. You don’t want to spend renting referrals where you won’t get commissions from.
You can check out LexiAdz, another trusted paying PTC site. If your membership is either a golden, VIP. or ultimate, you get to have the chance to rent referrals for free. You get to have 10, 15, or 25 referrals respectively. However, for standard members, they don’t have the luxury to rent referrals for free. If your account membership is upgraded, you get to pay less amount for recycling and save more. In LexiAdz, you get to have up to 1000 free rented referrals. So, for ultimate members, if you’re allowed to have 4000 rented referrals, you only pay for 3000 of them since you have free 1000 referral renting.
